According to the University Grant Commission’s (UGC) Quality Mandate, UGC must take steps to provide Life Skills (including soft skills) to students enrolled in institutions of higher education, particularly at the undergraduate level. Life skills, despite being intangible, have a crucial role in boosting students’ employability and self-esteem. Communication, interpersonal skills, time management, teamwork, flexibility, problem solving, professional skills, decision-making skills, leadership qualities, and universal values are just a few examples. The behaviours utilised effectively and responsibly in the administration of personal and professional matters are referred to as life skills. They are also a collection of human abilities that may be learned or gained via direct experience and are used to deal with difficulties and questions that arise in everyday personal and professional life. Life skills are stated to be the basic abilities that each human must acquire and instil both inside and outwardly for the betterment of themselves and others. Thus, life skills are a means of empowering young brains in difficult personal, professional, and societal situations. The key to success is the acquisition of life skills.
