The procedures for gaining and upholding legal rights to innovations, designs, and creative creations are covered under intellectual property law. Accessing copyrighted materials has been simpler in this digital age since you can easily find music, films, and books by clicking. This fact raises the likelihood of infringement. In fact, selling fake goods through an online marketplace presents a hurdle for IP enforcement. Infringing on trademarks results in significant losses for the IP owner. The majority of the enterprise resources are comprised of IP assets. Therefore, business owners ought to spend money on property security. But protecting intellectual property rights is not only a corporate responsibility. Both the government and the people should exert major influence. The contemporary internet has provided us with a vast array of options to explore the online world with regard to many facets of our lifestyle, including our business world. In contrast, treating the faceless online network as equal to a business concern and conducting the transaction without much identification and authentication left us on the wrong side of the fence. The nature of being boundaryless helps businesses reach every corner of the world, making it a benefit. E-commerce is defined by the World Trade Organization as the production, distribution, marketing, sales or delivery of goods and services by electronic means. Beyond the growth of e-commerce, there are many concerns, but one of them is the problem with the protection of intellectual property rights (IPR). IPR and e-commerce go hand in hand and complement one another. In an electronic commerce platform, the product or service being supplied incorporates IPR and its licensing. In addition, the IPR facilitates the operation of e-commerce. Trademark violations, or riding on the goodwill and reputation of well-known or reputable businesses, is one of the criminal acts that have been made possible by the features of the technology being anonymous and intangible. This paper examines these trademark infringements and the possible solutions for policing them on internet platforms.
